Sally’s life experiences have been many and varied. From starting a family at the age of 18, to becoming a teacher, having six children and building a career as a children’s author and poet, she has always juggled multiple roles and followed her nose to get where she wants to be.
Moving around the state of Western Australia with her husband and children, she became a pro at moving house and town and building a new life wherever she went. She even completed a Doctorate in creative writing in the hopes of overcoming imposter syndrome – before realising that it was only herself she needed to convince.
Sally’s professional life has included teaching from primary through to university level. Her 48 books for children and classroom use have dealt with a wide range of topics, including so-called tough subjects such as death, disability and the effects of war. More details of Sally’s books can be found on her author website here. For adults, she has run the website Aussiereviews for over 15 years, and also has fun with her Successfully Adulting Facebook page, where she tries not to take herself too seriously.
